I've been wanting to draw an illustration worthy of Teysa Karlov's strong and rich character from Magic: the Gathering for a long time, trying to slip into the circle of talented illustrators who brought her to life. When I learned along the way that an entire set would be dedicated to the Karlov house I saw it as a sign! The version I produced is an earlier depiction of the character during the invasion of Ravnica by Phyrexian forces.
